When I started working this project in August, I found the sample (Robert Glasper-Afro Blues) and I started piecing together the story of where I’m at in my life. I think my mood will be reflected in the type of tempos I choose for this project. I feel like with every project I do there’s growth and I become more comfortable with the artist and person I am. DREAMVILLE solidified a lot of things for me, a list of things that would probably be too immense to go through, but it solidified a lot of things and let me know what I want to do, and who I want to be. It’s a very interesting piece of work, probably to be honest with you, conceptually one of the most exciting projects I've worked on, there’s a new atmosphere A LOT different from the slow beats on Sincerely Yours. I really want this music to speak to my generation, my friends, and most importantly my town. This music means too much to me and without you it would mean nothing. Here it is,a culmination of 7 months of work. Enjoy.
